Treasurer’s Report

Our Treasurer, Giang Dang, will give us a brief on our financial situation and membership numbers. June was renewal month at a $10/year cost! If you are able, please consider renewing for multiple years to minimize transactional burdens for our treasurer.

Ballston BID

Arlington Civic Federation (CivFed)

Hear the latest news from BVSCA’s representatives to CivFed, Sharon Valencia, Adam Theo, and Nick Klissas.

Updates with the Ombuds

We work with the Ombuds and meet at least monthly for items relating to BVSCA. If you would like to keep us informed, or are struggling with resolution, contact us (info@ballstoncivic.org).

Neighborhood Conservation Advisory Committee (NCAC)

NCAC  surveyed participants to form sub-committees/working groups for the name change/program functionality. More updates will be provided as they become available.

Community and Issue Meeting Summaries

Over the past month, BVSCA leadership and membership has met with several community partners in relation to new and ongoing projects in our neighborhood. Brief summaries of these meetings are below:

  • 10/26 – County Board 2×2 (Christian Dorsey, Libby Garvey, Jim Rosen, Henry Staples)
  • 10/28, 11/3 – 11th & Vermont internal meeting Internal updates and discussion
  • 111/10 – 11th & Vermont Pre-Construction meeting (Randy Painter, Kristine Kasselberg, Ben Rudofsky, Henry Staples, 20+ others)
  • 111/3 – Lubber Run Watershed Group – Met w/ David Smith to understand initiative. Will keep BVSCA included. In BVSCA, most land west of N. Quincy is part of Lubber Run watershed. Increased stormwater management were approved of late by County.
  • 111/12 – Skanska (3901 N. Fairfax Dr.) Construction update
  • 1 11/12 – Terwilliger/APAH (was American Legion) construction concerns
  • 111/19 – County Board 2×2 (Matt de Ferranti, Takis Karatonis, Henry Staples, Jim Rosen)

Salesforce Migration

The Salesforce migration continues to move forward.

  • Currently tracking all cases through Salesforce.
  • All constituents data loaded, cleaning up some membership information.
  • We are in currently adding new contacts as prospects.
  • Any email sent to info@ballstoncivic.org will automatically create a case.

Discussion with Arlington County Planning Director

Anthony Fusarelli, Arlington County Planning Director, will present his priority areas and discuss key items in the Planning Division’s Work Plan of relevance to BVSCA residents, including the Missing Middle Housing Study.

He will be open for questions afterwards.
