This month’s meeting will feature Deputy Chief Wayne Vincent (ACPD) and School Board Member Mary Kadera for a discussion of community preparedness for school emergencies, Brendan Murray of Arlington Montessori House on proposed classroom expansion, P. David Tarter on the upcoming Bingham Center/Silver Diner development, as well as regular business and discussions of various ongoing area developments.

Neighborhood Safety During School Emergencies Discussion

Deputy Chief Wayne Vincent (ACPD) and School Board Member Mary Kaderawill present and lead a discussion of community public safety procedures as it relates to incidents at neighborhood schools. (30 minutes)

Arlington Montessori House Classroom Expansion Proposal

Brendan Murray of Arlington Montessori House at 3809 and 3813 Washington Blvd will speak to us about their proposal to expand with additional classrooms on the same property. They will brief us of their plans and seek to solicit a letter of support to the County. (15 minutes)

Bingham Center / Silver Diner Development Update

P. David Tarter will provide an update on the upcoming Bingham Center/Silver Diner development. (30 minutes)

Proposed Ground Floor Retail Edict Change

Adam Theo will provide a brief update on a proposed change to the County’s ground floor retail edict, as reported in the Sun Gazette: Arlington continues moving away from ground-floor-retail edict – Sun Gazette .

Ballston Quarter Site Plan Amendment

Adam Theo will brief us on a proposed amendment to the Ballston Quarter site plan for medical offices on the 2nd floor. BVSCA has recommended rejecting the amendment.

Emma Martin of the County Planning Department has offered to meet and talk about the amendment. BVSCA is seeking volunteers to meet with County representatives on this issue.

Stormwater Working Groups
