New Ballston Business Improvement District (BID) Director, Tina Leone was on hand to speak at the BVSCA’s January membership meeting. Ms. Leone was named the new Director of the BID back in December. It looks like community outreach is going to be a key point of emphasis for the BID, as there will be a spot for a member from our community on their board. The BID is looking to continue multiple events that were administered by the Ballston Partnership previously, such as the annual Taste of Arlington event and the Wellburn Square arts and crafts market. The BID plans to go beyond its predecessor organization, the Ballston Partnership, to provide supplemental maintenance to the neighborhood and engage in transportation concerns. Attention to these areas will help revitalize and redefine the district. Ms. Leone also stated that the BID is looking to be up and running in a location in Ballston by this spring. If you have questions or concerns that you would like our civic association to bring up to Ms. Leone and the BID, please email them to info@ballstoncivic.org.
